Children's Ministry

Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.  Mark 10:14.

Our Vision:  The vision that fuels our work in Children’s Ministries grows out of Jesus’ compassion and love for children.  In the midst of a consuming ministry to adults, Jesus regularly ministered to children. We believe the future of the church and world depends on effective ministry to children today.

Sunday School Program:  A full Children's Sunday School program is provided during the 9 a.m. worship service for infants through 5th grade.  During the 11 a.m. worship service, childcare is provided for infants through second grade only.  There is no Sunday School during the 11 a.m. worship service.

Our Program's Scope: We have a number of activities for children and families in addition to those scheduled for Sunday mornings.  Explore our web pages and discover the exciting things we have in store for you.  Since a picture is worth a thousand words, we' included many photos - both on our web pages and in special photo albums.  Come, have a look!

Children's Ministry Corner Photos:  There are even more photos on this member-only website. Contact Diana Rainer at admin2@umcto.org for more information about the site.  The website address is umctochildrensministry.shutterfly.com.

Safe Sanctuaries:  Here at UMCTO, we are committed to the physical, emotional & spiritual safety of your children.  We have implemented and follow a Safe Sanctuaries Policy to help us with this goal. All volunteers working with children are background checked & trained in the Safe Sanctuaries Policy. If you would like to view our policy, click here.

If you have questions, contact Connie Jones, Director of Spiritual Formation, at (805) 495-7215 ext. 302, or email her at education@umcto.org.
